Trial Lesson

Is the trial lesson really free?

Yes. Each new student is entitled to one 25-minute discovery session at no cost. There is no credit card required to book this session, and it does not commit you to a paid subscription.

What happens during the trial?

The trial is a 25-minute video call where we:

  • Discuss your specific Dutch language goals and learning needs.
  • Review my teaching materials and digital resources.
  • Create a personalized “Plan of Action” for your future lessons.

How do I book it?

You can book your slot directly through the Book a Free Trial lesson on my Homepage. After booking, you will receive a confirmation email with the Google Meet link for our session.

Can I cancel or reschedule my free trial?

Yes, you can reschedule or cancel your free trial lesson for free up to 24 hours before the scheduled start time.

What if I miss the 24-hour window?

Because that time slot was reserved exclusively for you and cannot be filled at short notice, the free trial offer is considered “used” if cancelled within 24 hours of the start time or in the event of a no-show.

Can I book another trial if I missed my first one?

Absolutely! While only the first trial attempt is free, you are welcome to book a second 25-minute introductory session for a nominal fee of €10. Please send your request to: info@dutchandyou.com.

Are your lessons suitable for children?

My lessons are designed for teenagers (aged 12–17) and adults.

Important for Parents:
For students under the age of 18, the booking and payment must be completed by a parent or legal guardian. By booking a lesson for a minor, the parent or guardian confirms their consent to the processing of the minor’s basic personal data (such as name and email address) for the sole purpose of delivering the online lesson, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Lesson Logistics

How long is a lesson?

Each standard lesson consists of 50 minutes of active, focused instruction.

Do you offer 25-minute or group lessons?

Yes. I offer 25-minute sessions for advanced learners who wish to focus exclusively on speaking practice or targeted improvement.

25-minute sessions are not recommended for beginners, as building a strong foundation requires more time and structure.

While I do not offer open group classes, DUO lessons are available for partners, friends, or colleagues who wish to study together. Discounted DUO packages can be found on the homepage.

What software is used?

Lessons are conducted via Google Meet.
After your booking is confirmed, you will receive a secure meeting link by email.

Do I have to buy any lesson materials?

No. All learning materials are included at no additional cost.

I provide proprietary exercises, customized worksheets, and carefully selected digital resources designed specifically for my curriculum. You do not need to purchase textbooks.

Do I receive homework?

Yes. To support consistent progress, you will receive digital assignments after each lesson.

Submission Policy:
If homework is submitted at least 24 hours before the next lesson, I will provide preliminary feedback so we can focus on your specific challenges during our live session.

If submitted later, we will review the work during or after the lesson.

How long will it take to reach my desired level?

Progress depends on your native language, prior experience, and study consistency.

Based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), the estimated cumulative hours of guided learning are:

  • A1 proficiency: 60-100 hours
  • A2 proficiency: 180-200 hours
  • B1 proficiency: 350-400 hours
  • B2 proficiency: 500-650 hours
  • C1 proficiency: 700-900 hours
  • C2 proficiency: 1.000-1.200 hours

The timeframes above are general industry estimates based on the CEFR framework. Language acquisition varies significantly between individuals.

Actual progress depends on factors such as learning consistency, self-study habits, linguistic background, and personal aptitude. While I provide structured guidance, professional support, and all necessary tools, Dutch and You cannot guarantee the achievement of a specific proficiency level within a fixed timeframe.

How do I buy lessons?

1. Select Your Service
Choose your preferred package or appointment type via the booking calendar.

2. Secure Checkout
You will be redirected to our secure checkout page.

3. Payment Processing
Payments are processed securely via Wise.

4. Confirmation
Once payment is completed, you will receive an automated confirmation email with your booking details and meeting link.

How do I schedule my Lesson(s)?

You can schedule lessons directly through the website. Go to My Account, log in, select ‘Packages‘, and book your appointments.

How do I enter the classroom for my lesson?

All lessons are conducted via Google Meet.

You can find your unique meeting link:

  • In your confirmation email (sent immediately after booking)
  • In your Google Calendar (if you selected “Add to Calendar”)

Can I reserve a specific time/day?

Yes. You may book recurring lessons on a weekly or bi-weekly basis at the same time.

Important:
If your package credits are used or lessons are paused for more than one month, I reserve the right to release the reserved time slot to other students.

If you do not plan to continue, please provide at least one week’s notice via email or WhatsApp so the slot can be reassigned.

Where can I find my Appointments?

You can view and manage all appointments through your Account

Option 1 – Via Confirmation Email

Click the “Manage Booking” link in your confirmation email to access your dashboard instantly (no password required).

Option 2 – Via My Account

Visit: dutchandyou.com/my-account
Log in using the email address used during booking.

  • In your account, you can: Reschedule or cancel appointments (within the permitted timeframe)
  • View upcoming and past lessons
  • Download calendar invitations

Can I Cancel/Reschedule a lesson?

Yes. You may cancel or reschedule free of charge up to 24 hours before the lesson start time.

Within 24 hours, the lesson is considered delivered and cannot be changed or refunded.

How do I Cancel/Reschedule a lesson?

All changes must be made through the Student Dashboard:

  1. Click the “Manage Booking” link in your original confirmation email.
  2. Select the lesson under the “Upcoming” tab.
  3. Choose “Reschedule” or “Cancel.”
  4. Ensure the change is made at least 24 hours in advance.

Once updated, you will receive a confirmation email.

Important:
Cancellation or rescheduling requests sent via WhatsApp or email are not valid. Changes must be processed through the system to ensure your lesson credit is automatically restored.

Why can’t I cancel/reschedule within 24 hours?

As lessons are reserved exclusively for you, short-notice cancellations prevent the time slot from being offered to another student.

If you cancel within 24 hours or do not attend the session, the lesson credit will be forfeited.

Payments & Refunds

Lesson Packages (50-Minute Sessions)

10 Lessons → € 300, – 

₾ 942 (depending on current exchange rates)

10 DUO Lessons → € 375, – 

₾ 1178 (depending on current exchange rates)

Lesson Packages (25-Minute Sessions)

10 Lessons → € 200, –

₾ 628 (depending on current exchange rates)

Note: GEL prices are estimates based on current exchange rates and are provided for compliance with Georgian pricing transparency laws.

Can I pay in my own currency?

Yes. Although all prices are listed in EUR (€), you may complete your payment using your local card.

If you pay in a different currency, your payment provider (your bank) will apply its own exchange rate and may charge currency conversion or international transaction fees. These fees are determined solely by your payment provider and are outside of our control.

For direct bank transfers, the transferred amount must equal the full invoice amount in EUR. Any intermediary bank fees are the responsibility of the sender.

What is your Refund Policy?

In accordance with the Law of Georgia on Protection of Consumer Rights and our commitment to transparent service:

14-Day Right of Withdrawal

You are entitled to request a refund within 14 calendar days of purchase.

If no lessons have been used, a full refund of the remaining package balance will be issued.

Deduction for Services Rendered

If lessons have already been delivered during the 14-day period, the value of the completed lessons will be deducted from the refund amount at the standard individual lesson rate.

Service Commencement

By booking and attending your first lesson within the 14-day withdrawal period, you expressly consent to the service beginning immediately.

Non-Refundable Fees

Payment processing fees charged by PayPal or banking institutions are non-refundable.

After 14 Days

After the 14-day withdrawal period has expired, refunds are generally not issued. However, you may pause your package or use remaining credits within the validity period.

Refund Method

Refunds are processed exclusively to the original payment method used for the purchase.

As a Georgian-registered entity, accounting settlements are finalized in GEL (Lari). Currency differences caused by exchange rate fluctuations are outside of our control.


Package Validity

To support consistent progress, lesson packages remain valid for the following period:

  • 10-Lesson Packages: Valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.

Unused lessons expire after the validity period.

Inactive Students

If lessons are discontinued for more than 3 months without prior notice, any unused promotional discounts or reserved time slots may be released.
